Rene Leveret crushes it
Team France slugger Rene Leveret went (very) deep in Saturday's elimination game against Panama. The first baseman's solo bomb gave back France some hope as it was the tying run of the World Baseball Classic Qualifier semifinal game.
While France did battle hard against Panama - they even took a 3-0 lead early in the game -, they still saw their dream of advancing to the final game when their opponents scored three unanswered runs late in the game.
On Friday, Team France, managed by B45 partner Éric Gagné, won their first-ever win at a WBC event, beating Spain 5-3.
Yesterday, Colombia beat Panama 2-1 in the final game and will participate in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
