On the Road: Recap of Baseball Ontario's Best Ever Clinic
For the first time ever, we participated in the annual Baseball Ontario’s Best Ever Coaching Clinic, at a hotel near Pearson Airport in Toronto on January 20th and 21st. And it was a lot of fun in the Six meeting so many interesting people working for the good of our sport.
Before heading to the show site, our GTA rep Nick Vimard took us to visit some of our retail clients in the area, and even a little further. We had a good time meeting with the passionate staff of Centretown Sports, in Barrie, Ward & Patch Sports, in Richmond Hill, and Eagle Beaver Sports, in Scarborough. It’s great to hear that the feedback from their customers is very good when they talk about our bats!
On Saturday, we also went to visit Upperdeck Baseball Academy, in Brampton, where we had the chance to meet Tyrell Schofield-Sam, 15, who has been swinging B45 for a couple years now. It was also good to see Coach Frank Fascia again. We met him at the ABCA Convention in Anaheim early January and he was also at the Best Ever Clinic as an exhibitor representing Elite Baseball of Ontario.
During the Best Ever Clinic (you gotta love this name), it was always pretty busy at our kiosk, which was featuring our bats plus some of our new products. We got a lot of technical questions about the bats, especially regarding their weight. It’s always a pleasure to inform people about the benefits of yellow birch and the various sizing options we can offer. Also, many coaches we met were happy to learn more about a Canadian baseball equipment company.
Special mention to Brian Ballentine, from Guelph, who shared with us some his baseball stories, including a memorable trip to Jonquière, in Québec, for the 21U National Championships almost 20 years ago!
We want to congratulate Mary-Ann Smith and the rest of her team at Baseball Ontario for putting this great event together.
We will be back in Toronto on February 10-12 to attend the Blue Jays National Coaching Clinic at Rogers Centre. Make sure to come visit our booth if you're in town for the event.
