Carlos Gonzalez becomes partner at B45
B45 is proud to announce that All-star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez joins the company’s Board of Directors and becomes partner, a few months only after being named Brand Ambassador.
After completing his first season hitting only with B45 Premium Yellow Birch bats, the Venezuelan slugger was more than ever convinced of the products’ absolute quality and decided to become more involved with the company.
“In 2015, I started using the bats pretty much the second half and my numbers just jumped. I had a great second half, one of the best in the game, and I hit 27 home runs during that time, which is a team record. And of course, when you put big numbers like that, you want to stick with the bats,” explained the outfielder who participated in his third all-star game in 2016.
CarGo also mentioned that the fact that B45 remains the leader in the handcrafting of Yellow Birch baseball bats was among the factors that convinced him to join the Board of Director.
“Yellow Birch bats are going to last longer. If you’re having a good streak, you never want to switch bat, you want to have the same one. That bat is going to stay loyal to you.”
A huge step for B45
For B45’s Chairman and former Big Leaguer Éric Gagné, this is a huge step in the company’s life.
“The fact that CarGo wanted to become partner with us is a big statement to the whole baseball world. He came to us with the firm intention to not only endorse the product, but he wants to bring it to another level. He is one of the best hitters of his generation and with him we want to develop the best products of this era,” stated Gagné.
Back in March, B45 unveiled a new bat model based on Gonzalez’s game bat, the CarGo 5, which quickly became one of the brand’s hottest sellers.
In 2016, CarGo showed a .298 batting average and powered 25 home runs. He was invited to his third all-star game and also got the opportunity to be a contestant at the home run derby. For the occasion, B45 made him a special bat to honor the Venezuelan flag.
At age 31, CarGo will play his tenth season in the Big Leagues in 2017 with Colorado.
